Who is Simply Recruit?
Simply-recruit.com was conceived in June 2004 by Sarah-Jane Ormston following 7 years or running her own Au-pair agency with the combined experience in both employment and recruitment of European Labour.

Simply recruit is ideally suited to help UK employers to take advantage of the new EU regulations for EU Countries to work in the UK.

How Do I Register?
Select your category from the top menu, for example if you are seeking a job in the UK then select Job Seeker, if you are a company wishing to fill a position then select Employers and if an Agency wishing to employ or place candidates then select agency.

Complete the application/registration form and you will be sent a password to access the Simply Recruit website.

How do I get help or support?

How long can I stay in the UK?
If you are from an EU country you can stay as long as they like, but you must apply for a National Insurance number through the Local Benefits office and apply to the Home Office for the Working Registration Scheme within the first four weeks of working in the UK.

How do I change or refresh my account?
In your person file you will find a button to enable to update/edit your details at any time.

Which countries are eligible to come to the UK to work?
All EU countries can travel freely between Europe and do not require a VISA. Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands. New EU members planing to join in January 2007 Bulgaria and Romania.

How does an EU worker apply for a NI number?
The EU Employee must speak to the Local Benefits Agency and make an appointment to receive a new National Insurance number. Information from government website, visit www.dwp.gov.uk.

How do I go about interviewing candidates?
As most of the candidates live aboard - the easiest way is via the telephone. If you require a face to face interview we suggest you pay for a cheap return flight for the candidate to enable you to meet them and see their work. We would expect it to cost around £100 per candidate for the flight and cost of accommodation.

How do EU workers get a Workers Registration Form?
All EU Workers must register with the Home Office within 4 weeks of starting work in the UK - you can get a form from the www.workingintheuk.gov.uk or telephone 0870 5210224 for a Workers Registration Scheme form – for the candidate to apply for a WRS will cost £70.

How does a EU Worker apply for a Bank Account?
If a EU worker arrives in the UK and is placed in a B&B and wishes to open a Bank Account - the Company must write a statement to say that this Candidate is working for them and confirm where the candidate is living at present with the company contact details on headed paper and that the company banks with ******. The candidate must open a bank account at the same bank and take his passport as proof of identity - A bank account should be opened before the candidate sends for her/his National Insurance number and Working Registration Scheme to the Home Office as his/her passport will be missing for a few weeks at the home office.

What should I do if I change jobs?
If you change jobs, you must apply again for a registration certificate under the Worker Registration Scheme authorising you to carry out the work for your new employer. You should again use the application form WRS however you do not have to pay a fee or send your passport or national ID card on these occasions. You must however quote the reference number on your registration card and provide details of your new employer. We will then issue you with a new certificate naming your new employer and a copy to your new employer. You should keep the new certificate as well as your original certificate and photo registration card.

I have never employed a European Worker?
A lot of companies are nervous about taking their first European worker on. We are here to help you. The employment law is exactly the same - the only difference is that with in the first 4 weeks they must apply for a working registration scheme through the home office and apply for a national insurance number - until these details are put though they are taxed on an emergency code which your accountant will be able to help you with. We will also help at the beginning with translation - most EU workers have good English.

Should an employee take out insurance?
Although it is not essential to take out extra insurance as you will be covered if their is an emergency in hospital and will get treatment on the National Health Service - we do recommend insurance in case something bad happens and you have to get back to your home country quickly or indeed if the unthinkable happens and your body needs to be shipped back to your home country.

Can EU Workers Drive in the UK?
All EU drivers can drive in the UK - you must check and advise your insurance company - they may require to see the EU drivers licence - as soon as possible they must send their passport and driving licence to the DVLA and they will receive a UK driver licence for a small fee. Please remember that they must also send for Working Registration Scheme with passport with in 4 weeks of working.
